Sides

Apparently they want us to start picking teams again. It’s getting easier and easier for me to see that neither “side” politically gives a damn about the people. With the extremes on either side getting louder and louder it seems likely to get worse before it gets better. I pray I am wrong, And allow low key fantasies about dumb lucking my way into a position of authority. Thinking of somehow bringing common sense into rooms where there appears to be little. I don’t know if that is in His will for me. I do know that the history of my life has proved time and time again that no matter the struggle, He will provide the strength. And I know that whether He calls me to stand in front of millions, or just this community, I need to stand for Love.

This isn’t about teams, sides, colors, or heritage. This is about what is right, and what definitely is not. If your opinion differs from mine, that’s ok, the next question I naturally would wonder is, Did you search out the opinion, or was it handed to you?

My opinion, Renee Good was murdered. There are too many clear angles showing alternative options for this agent, there was too much anger in his voice after. He clearly could not handle life and death decisions, and had not been trained well enough to rely on muscle memory. I know that if any of my Soldiers had done this in Iraq or Afghanistan, it would have been wrong then as well.

I know that the same argument that the U.S. is making about Greenland, can be made about China and Taiwan, and Russia and Ukraine. What’s right is right, and this is wrong.

I know that my job is to care for those around me now, just as it was to not only care for my Soldiers then, but also the Iraqis, and Afghans.

I know that there are many Americans that equally feel fed up with the current climate. People who can simultaneously hold personal beliefs and opinions, and care for people who believe differently.

I believe we can use the current system, but only with more than two options. Perhaps you agree.
